| Meet Dewey |
There was "something unexplainable" about Dewey that struck both Mark and Jill deeply the moment they met him. "While living in Texas," Mark says, "we found Dewey at a local rescue's adoption event when he was about 4 months old. He just seemed to click with us from the first moment on."
Jump Onto Something Comfortable
"He was a shy, little black and white pointer pup," describes Mark, "who (as we found out as soon as we got him home) wanted nothing more than a family to love. He has been a loyal companion and loving family member since day one. It almost seems like he thanks us every day for giving him a home.

Dewey was a character from the first day we brought him home from the rescue adoption," continues Mark. "The minute he stepped his first paw in our house, he made a beeline for our pure white sofa. He jumped right up onto it, stretched out, and made himself comfortable! It's been one of his favorite spots ever since."
Dewey Rules
"Once he's snuggled into his spot," says Mark, "we have to work around him because he's not moving!"
The same rules apply to the bed. "Despite having multiple dog beds of his own," explains Mark, "Dewey still finds it necessary to take up the majority of our bed. We live by his rules in other ways too.
"If we don't follow his rules,
we receive a loud sigh of disapproval."

When he's ready to get up in the morning, we all get up. When he's ready to go to bed, we'd better be quiet so as not to disturb him. If we don't follow his rules, we receive a loud sigh of disapproval followed by a great deal of very dramatic pouting."
Who Needs a Hug?
"Even though he is 65 pounds and very muscular," claims Mark, "Dewey is the sweetest, most affectionate dog we've ever met. He doles out kisses and hugs every chance he gets. He stands up on his back legs and wraps his front legs around you to give a big hug. He'll curl up on your lap like he's a teacup Chihuahua. But Dewey's most unique trait is his ability to be sensitive and compassionate.

always there to offer one of his hugs."

"He knows when his buddy Mark is having a tough day and is always there to offer one of his legendary hugs or just some silent company."
Fair Weather Friend
Dewey loves the outdoors, but transitioning from Texas weather to Wisconsin snow was tough for him. "Dewey had never seen snow," Mark says. "The first snowfall completely bewildered him. He was very hesitant to take a step out of the house that first snowy morning, especially since the snow was still coming down! He took a few steps down the sidewalk, turned around, sat down, and looked up at us, squinting as snowflakes stuck to his little black eyelashes. He then stood up, walked right past us and back into the house. He was headed for hibernation!"

Dewey has adjusted to Wisconsin weather, however, and, despite visiting warmer climes, loves nothing better than to be in the woods, a field, a marsh, "anywhere he can run free and investigate and sniff everything in sight!" says Mark.
Having a Field Day
"Dewey is well travelled and has visited more states than many people we know," Mark says. "He has vacationed and soaked up the sun on the beaches of Florida, visited towns on the Mexico border, and frequently comes along on weekend trips to visit family in the heart of downtown Chicago. But none of these adventures compare to Dewey Dog's favorite place to be. There is nothing he gets more excited for than a day in the field finding birds. True to his breed, Dewey can run endlessly and tirelessly and he loves to do it. Dewey leads the ultimate life of an active, sporting dog."
Dewey and BLUE
"We made the switch to BLUE about 10 months ago," says Mark. "We had tried other brands but were not fully satisfied. We always want to give him the very best that's available. After much research, we determined BLUE was just that brand. We have been blown away by the positive effects. Dewey's coat is much shinier and he sheds much less. Because BLUE uses much higher quality ingredients than most other brands we've tried, Dewey eats a smaller quantity of food at each meal to satisfy his hunger.

He also eats with much more intensity than his old brand and always licks the bowl completely dry!" continues Mark. "He is also a huge fan of the BLUE Health Bars. The sight of the bag alone makes him lick his lips! What we like most about the BLUE brand is that it seems the health of their pet consumers comes first. The quality of nutrients and ingredients is outstanding and it shows in Dewey's everyday life! Thank you for making such a great dog food!"
