Meet Shea
The story of how Shea came into pet parent Melissa's life is touching, to say the least.

"Shea chose me," Melissa says. "A friend of mine had a shore house and invited me down a few times in the summer. There was a little tuxedo-colored, flea ball, stray kitty that would somehow find me and sit on my lap and follow me around every time I went for a visit. The family let him live in the backyard."

But towards the end of the summer, Melissa received a call that the town animal shelter took Shea.

"Apparently a neighbor called the town shelter on him," Melissa explains. "The people at the pound told her they had no room for him and that he would most likely be euthanized within a week since he was not a kitten."

"I am so lucky that he found his way
onto my lap two years ago."

Melissa went to a pet store, bought a cage and drove down to the shelter to get Shea. "I called a vet on the way home to make an appointment", Melissa adds. "Shea was and still is the sweetest most loveable cat, I am so lucky that he found his way onto my lap two years ago."

A Lullaby With His Purrs.

Shea wakes us up each morning by running back and forth on the pillows as his brother meows loudly at the end of the bed. "I think they found this is the most effective way to get their breakfast ASAP," Melissa jokes.

Melissa continues, "after he eats and does his business, he will carry a stuffed mouse to me and have me throw it down the hall. Then it's naptime, where he lies in front of the sliding glass door and soaks up the sun. He also loves sitting in front of the window looking at birds and people. Or he'll play with a ball or mouse in his cathouse. He always ends the day laying in bed and singing my husband a lullaby with his purrs."

Shea's Favorite Place?
Grandma's House.

Melissa talks about the time she went on her honeymoon and Shea spent 10 days with Grandma. "He was a ham every minute. Grandma, his aunt and uncle spoil him silly so what's not to love about a trip there?"

"People comment on how outgoing
he is and how he acts more like a dog."

According to Melissa, Shea is truly a sweetheart. "When we have guests over, he rubs up against their legs or wants to sit on their lap. Most people comment on how outgoing he is and how he acts more like a dog. I'm sure he doesn't take that last part as a compliment."

Expect Mice Just About Anywhere.

Shea loves to hide his little mice in shoes, gym bags, purses, everywhere. "I even found a mouse toy in my sock drawer a few times," says Melissa. "After a trip to my Mom's house they find mice for weeks."

Shea and BLUE.

Shea was malnourished when Melissa first rescued him. Her cousin, a veterinarian, recommended BLUE to Melissa. "She thought Wilderness would be a good food for Shea to transition to since he was an outdoor cat, with the added natural nutrients that he desperately needed," Melissa tells. "The Wilderness wet food is his favorite, but he likes to switch it up and enjoys dry for lunch. Shea is a totally healthy, happy, active three-year-old cat now, thanks to BLUE and my cousin's recommendation."
